Couples photoshoots in Angkor are one of my favorite photoshoots to shoot – the surroundings work so well for couples, giving us the opportunity to create timeless memories of your time in Angkor. Whether you’re visiting Siem Reap for an engagement, honeymoon, or simply travelling together, the setting does a lot of the work – the focus is on using it well.
Each session is planned around the time of day, the light, and how you want the photos to feel. Some couples prefer something relaxed and natural, others want a bit more direction. The approach adapts to that, rather than following a fixed structure.
Within Angkor, there are a number of different locations to choose from, each with its own feel. Some are more open and iconic, others are quieter and more enclosed.
Rather than following a fixed route, the choice of location depends on how you want the photos to look and feel. You can use this page and supporting pages to help choose the perfect location for your couples photoshoot in Angkor.
Angkor Wat is the most recognizable backdrop in Siem Reap for a couples shoot, and for good reason. The scale of the temple complex, the reflection pools, the ancient stonework – there’s nothing else quite like it, and it photographs beautifully at almost any time of day.
That said, no two sessions here look the same. Sunrise gives you open, dramatic light and a quieter atmosphere before the tour groups arrive. Later in the morning the light softens and the pace slows down. Both work well depending on what kind of images you’re after – and that’s something we can figure out together before the shoot.
Some couples prefer to stay in one area and keep things relaxed and unhurried. Others want to move through different parts of the complex and come away with a wider variety of shots. Either approach works, and I’ll plan around whichever feels right for you.
The main things I take into account before each session are how you want the photos to feel, how much direction you’re comfortable with, and what the light is doing that day. From there, the goal is just to make the most of your time at one of the most extraordinary places on earth – without overcomplicating it.

Whether you’re planning an engagement shoot, a couples session, or a small elopement, Siem Reap is one of the most remarkable places in the world to do it. The temples, the light, the landscape — it’s a setting that’s hard to match anywhere.
I photograph couples at Angkor Wat and across the wider temple complex, as well as other locations around Siem Reap depending on what you’re looking for. Every shoot is different, and I work around your schedule, your comfort level, and the kind of images you actually want to come away with.

The aim is to create something that fits naturally into your time in Siem Reap, rather than forcing a rigid plan.
