About Siem Reap Photographer

I’m Geoff Greenwood, a professional photographer based in Siem Reap, Cambodia. I’ve lived here for years and have spent a huge amount of time photographing Angkor Wat and the temples of the Angkor Archaeological Park.

Working at Angkor regularly has given me an understanding of the temples that goes well beyond knowing the main photo spots. I’ve photographed them through different seasons and weather conditions, at sunrise and throughout the day, and I’ve learned how changing light, crowds and access can completely change the photographs you can make.

Today, much of my work at Angkor is with couples, families and travelers who want natural photographs of their time in Cambodia. I photograph private sessions at Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, Bayon, Angkor Thom and temples throughout the archaeological park. I also offer Angkor photography tours for photographers who want to explore the temples while improving their own photography.

My approach is relaxed and personal. I plan shoots around the people I’m photographing, the light and what is happening in the temples that day. I’ll guide you when you need it, but I don’t want every photograph to feel staged or overly posed.

Beyond Angkor, I work professionally in hospitality and commercial photography, photographing hotels, resorts, restaurants and businesses in Siem Reap, Phnom Penh and elsewhere in Cambodia.

I also write my own Angkor photography guides, sharing what I’ve learned from photographing the temples first-hand. My aim is to give photographers and visitors useful information based on actually spending time at these locations, including where to photograph, when to go and what conditions to expect.
